Bio
Born in rural Maryland, Samantha Stewart’s artwork confronts gender, race, and sexuality. Her work has taken many forms spanning 2D and 3D mediums. Her newest body of work utilizes reactionary doodles in larger linear based landscapes.
Stewart received a BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Maryland Institute College of Art. She has spent her adult life working collaboratively with Baltimore Clayworks, Jubilee Arts, ConneXion’s Summer Academy, Baltimore Robotics Center, and Access Art.
Stewart is currently a high school visual arts teacher and department chair as well as a visiting artist with DC LEVEE.
